After my daughter returned from working on self-sustainable agriculture in Nicaragua, I breathed a sigh of relief. I had been a little concerned that she might do something foolish because of her big heart, which she told me had been foolish. She was more savvy than that! It did strike me that the situation was perfect for the plot of a novel. And thus “The Girls And Me” was born. The relationships between the daughter, her mother and her sister is what sustains the women throughout the terrifying world in which they find themselves.
